One of our prestigious Clients' who is a leading UK-based Offshore Service Provider is looking for an experienced "Server Administrator" to work in their Colombo office immediately.
SALARY: Rs. 55,000 - 75,000
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Tasks/Other Troubleshooting
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
- Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure.
- Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Liaising with end-users/third party software providers to troubleshoot issues.
- Knowledge of PHP/Nodejs will be helpful in troubleshooting issues.

- Troubleshoot support queries.
- Setup/troubleshoot MS Office/applications.
- Manage patch updates.
Office 365/Azure AD/MS Intune (Non-essential/Desirable, Training will be provided)
- Create/Manage users.
- Enroll devices into Intune.
- Manage email signatures.
Networking (Non-essential/Desirable, Training will be provided)
- Setting up VPN users on routers.
- Manage VPN users.
- Troubleshoot router issues.
- Maintain/manage IP devices such as IP Cameras, IP Intercoms, IP Access control. (Training will be provided)
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or equivalent experience required.
- 4-6 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience.
- System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network-related fields are a plus.
- Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools.
- Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
PREFERRED:
- Solid understanding of Windows & Linux (CentOS/Debian)
- Solid understanding of Maintaining & Updating MS SQL & MySQL
- Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
- Good knowledge of software development to help deploy, maintain, and update applications made with LAMP & MERN stacks.
- Knowledge of C# is not-essential but will be an advantage.
