One of our prestigious Clients' who is a leading UK-based Offshore Service Provider is looking for an experienced "Logistics Coordinator" to work in their Colombo office immediately.
SALARY: Rs. 55,000 - 75,000
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for handling from start to finish all import and export sea/road/rail operations for shipments across all trade lanes with a primary focus on exports into Russia and Central Asia.
- Receiving bookings and organizing required transport/equipment for multimodal shipments to/from Europe, Russia, and Central Asia.
- Accurate preparation and completion of export cargo documentation.
- Liaising directly via email and telephone with shippers, consignees, shipping lines, haulers, customs agents, stevedores, forwarders, SSL overseas offices/operations staff, and third-party agencies.
- Provide accurate and consistent reports to customers (tracking, issues, delivery schedules, etc)
- Data entry into the in-house transport and accounts systems
- Raising sales invoices within the in-house freight system.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in a similar role with a good understanding of transport/logistics operations is an advantage.
- Container operations and knowledge of CIS rail operations would be a big plus, but not a necessity.
- Good geographical knowledge of Russia and Central Asia is a necessity.
- Good working knowledge of international customs regulations.
- Knowledge of Incoterms.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Excellent interpersonal & networking skills.
- Strong IT skills. (MS-Office, Database, etc.)
- Proficient in using logistics software. (e.g. ERP)
- Good numeric skills.
- Good organization, coordination & time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Analytical and logical approach to problem-solving.
- Highly customer-oriented with the ability to build strong, working relations.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision in a team environment.
